ELIMINATING A STOP OR A NEGATIVE...

It is very often useful to identify the barriers when doing any planning on how to accomplish something.  Doing this can frequently help produce more desired results than using strategies that are designed to harvest energy to move forward.

In planning, they often call the portion of the plan the SWOT analysis, which stands for strengths, weaknesses, obstacles, and threats.  

Sometimes, removing the barriers, obstacles, "challenges", diversions, threats, etc., will have a great and sometimes more immediate effect on making progress toward a goal. 

For instance, we all know (don't we?) that exercise is good for us, but many of us do not do it.  Removing the barriers of "getting dressed, being bored, time it takes, fitting it in to the day, making it regular" will enable one to get the desired results.   See Making Exercise Easy And Enjoyable, Besides Getting The Benefits.

THE SUPER-BIG OBSTACLE

The biggest obstacle is actually one that we fabricate and then become the victim to. 

It does take some understanding and learning in order to eliminate it as an obstacle, but I think it is the most worthwhile thing to do.

The question is how to do it.  So this site has several approaches built into it, all of which are supplementary to each other and complementary, being consistent with each other. 

The problem is that we allow an outdated fear mechanism to cause us fear based on threats that are just made up and not real.  Yes, a tiger is a real threat plus a few other things of major consequence, but 99% of what captures us up into fear is not a real threat requiring fear to solve it.

Learning that may be the most valuable thing you've ever done in your life - as it is the ticket to absolute freedom from the restrictions and obstacles that we've set up to avoid these false threats - as they will no longer be needed!!!! 

The key starting piece to see this is Threats And "Fear" - Differentiating As To What Is A Legitimate (Real) Threat.

SOME "UNSEEN" OBSTACLES

The absence of anything that is necessary in order to get results is also a barrier or obstacle to getting what you want.  Simple idea of course.

Missing the idea that in order to have a good life one must take responsibility for everything in life can alter, downward, one's whole life.  It is critical to deal with that and learning that the alternatives (victimhood, dependency, control of others, denial, etc.) do not work.

Just look at the traits of "winners" and successful people in life - and if you are missing any of them, that is a barrier to your success.  (Of course, you would not take on those bad traits that some people have in only a limited area.  You would not take on overwork that ruins your life so that you can make more money.  You would differentiate as to who overstressed themselves and bent themselves out of shape to and/or "sacrificed" themselves in order to be "successful" in a narrow band of life.)
