IS THE AFTER-LIFE REAL?
AND WHAT WOULD IT BE LIKE?
Yes, the after-life is possible. No one can disprove it in any scientifically valid way. They can 'assess the odds' of it being true, but that assessment can never be 0%.
We have what is estimated to be about 33 (all named) senses as a human being, but only some limited number of senses is possible as we have "limited space" within which to hold them.
As such, it is possible that we "cannot see, sense, etc." what is going on on a different "dimension".
It is very, very probable that mankind has made up alot about God, etc., as there are so many different versions and progressions and modifications, of which only one version is true (and that is the religion one has chosen - ergo, it must be true). It is highly likely that God is, logically, much different than the "angry" or "violent" God that he is described as.
It only makes sense that a higher being capable of creating worlds would be hugely smart and thus hugely wise and enlightened (not burdened with stupid stuff). Therefore, it is very, very likely that he would be compassionate and "non-judgmental".
THE FINAL JUDGMENT?
But, you say, what about the "final judgment"?
It is only true or logical that he does not "look down upon" and diminish any of his creatures, but only loves them as is as far as they currently are on the spectrum of badness and goodness and/or of stewardship ability. He is likely to not punish and hold people as "lesser". But he is likely to "judge" in terms of the submeaning of "to assess", so that he can place people at the proper level in heaven.
It is highly unlikely that he would "rejuggle" who is to be placed higher or lower due to some arbitrary whim, so you are likely to be treated fairly and assessed fairly.
IT'S ON A CONTINUUM
People would leave this earth at a certain level and then continue on the same line of "progression", as one seamlessly enters heaven.
Very good people would hang out around those they are most compatible with: other good people. People at lower levels of emotional and behavior mastery would fit better with others like them. And if the latter didn't progress, one would stay with the lowest level people, who do not know how to treat others well and who may "harm" them in some sense of the word - which would mean that they are living, in a sense, in a "Hell" of existence and experience.
SO, HOW SHOULD I PLAY MY CARDS, THEN?
To "live the dream" of being at a higher level in heaven, it is imperative, other than just "being nice" and "good" that you rise to a high level of mastery of this life, for that same mastery will continue on into heaven and determine where you are placed...
