ACIDIC FOODS
DOESN'T THE BODY TAKE CARE OF ALL OF THIS?
beginning draft, but you'll get the idea
THE BIG QUESTION
Are highly acidic soft drinks, coffee, and too much acidic foods killing you?
Yes.
(Note that acidity is rated in a way that can fool people. For each increase of 1 in acidity, the acidity actually increases by ten times that number. And increase of 2 indicates a 100 times the amount of acidity. Soft drinks are 100's of times more acidic that many other acidic substances.... See the discussion below on this, in more detail.)
REQUIRED BALANCE
We will die if we get too far out of acid-alkaline balance!
In order to survive we must have the proper balance, so our body, of course, has evolved to take care of that.
It just didn't "think" it would have to spend so much of its energy on doing it. It certainly didn't have to in the Caveman days!
So it seems that we haven't evolved to handle the massive doses of acid. But somehow our body seems to be handling it, as evidenced by the fact that it keeps us at the right level.
But what is the cost?
Whenever we are out of homeostatic balance, we must devote energy to get back into functioning balance - and that happens at a cost.
True, unless we use our brain and look at the evidence, it seems invisible that there is an effect.
The effect is hidden among all the other harmful effects that our poor eating and exercise habits beget, so we somehow conclude that everything must be ok and we can handle all that stuff.
So, no problem, right?!
WHAT DOES THE BODY HAVE TO DO TO KEEP THE RIGHT BALANCE
Whenever we take in alot of acid, the body goes to the source of what balances the alkalinity: our bones and other places where we have calcium.
And if we can't replenish what is needed in various parts of our body, those parts don't function as well and our bones (and muscles) get weaker.
Is that acceptable?
Is it acceptable that it shortens your life and helps contribute to the early deterioration and aging of your body and hurts your energy and how you experience life?
EFFECTS
Mild acidosis can cause fatigue, nausea and vomiting. More severe acidosis can cause a headache and drowsiness, which may progress to stupor, a coma and death.
MEASUREMENT OF ACIDITY
The body needs to maintain about a 7.35 pH. 7 is considered neutral on the alkilinity-acidity scale. The typical cola can have a pH level of 2.5. Since an increase of 1 in pH indicates a change of 10 in the acidity-alkalinity level, the cola is 10 x 10 x 10 x 10 more acid or 10,000 times - so there is some balancing to do to adjust for that much acidity...
Coffee is typically around 5.0, which has less acidity than beer or fruit juice or carbonated water (which contains carbonic acid). Adding dairy creamer can add some calcium to help neutralize the acid.

After writing the number one most essential piece on "life productivity", the users of those strategies in that book will have freed up the hours to study other essential areas. Since energy and the functioning of the body are the most important components to promote a better life along with a better functioning of the brain, the next "80%", practical quikbook will be on the quickest route to good health. With the writing of that book, I will finish off the rest of the subject. (The Quickest Route To High "Life Productivity" can be linked to from Books. It is essential to a great life to be following these practices and principles.)
But don't you think that soft drinks have proven themselves to be disastrous for your health??? And don't you think that you should no longer drink them?
