FEELING BAD ABOUT MINOR "GOING WRONG"S AND "MISSINGS"
FAILING TO LIVE IN THE BIG PICTURE

This is a vital, vital point, as it recurs so often that it diminishes the quality of life - and even one's health.

In this piece, I attempt to make the point about what is awry and why.  But the main point is to persuade you to implement what will work to cause this way of thinking to no longer be a problem.

THE AUTOMATIC "I'M SHORT OF..." RESPONSE - NEGATIVE

After all my reading and studying I notice that even have an automatic brain response of "I'm losing something that I should have."

"My DVR isn't working right.  And I'll be without it for a few days.  I've lost some recordings."
"I'm inconvenienced.  I could have done something else.  I'm anxious to 'get on with it'"  (The "it" is unspecified.)

I do catch myself and ramp myself up into higher perspective, but I didn't always - and I suspect most Westerners do not.

Part of the problem is that "what is available at the highest level" becomes our mind's "new normal" - a standard against which we measure ourselves and come up short on.  expectations

A MISREADING OF THE SIGNIFICANCE, WITH NO SCREENING

In the mind, as it evolved, it is imperative that we have all we can have for survival.  When we are missing something that helps survival, the body gives us a jolt of negative chemicals.  This, of course, is part of what made us survive.  (See The Story Of Our Happy And Our Unhappy Chemicals.)

However, we fail to differentiate now between the mass of everything we could have and the importance of a few things that truly can impact our survival and/or what truly has a necessary effect on the basic quality of our lives.  Anything besides the latter

THE COMPLETE REPLY CONVERSATION

This means nothing.  I live in abundance, with a huge number of bonuses in life.  If I no longer get a bonus, that is no big deal.  A bonus, by its very definition, is something not to be expected for normal performance (or living).

The brief version, once the complete one is practiced and internalized.  The brief version is what is used as instant response, as it is easier to remember and have available instantly.  but it recalls the whole meaning.
