EXCUSES OR LEGITIMATE?

The evidence is in:  Just learning life from experience is often a miserable failure.  It doesn't work well in almost any case.  (Those who seem to be "just learning from experience are actually being taught by their parents, a tight culture operating from wisdom or "goodness", a church they go to - but it is never enough to learn at random! (See The Best Ways To Learn.)

There is no "And Then A Miracle Happens..." in terms of learning life well if we don't do what is necessary to learn well.  Actual proven learning methods are what works, not some sloppy assumption about how it'll all come together "somehow" (and probably "some time", vaguely off in the future). 

Some people who do better are those who are taught to reflect on life and to see what the lessons are.  Meditators do better, as well as anyone trying to do better in life and improve its quality.  But they all fall short and take alot of wasted time and effort when compared to learning life on purpose, as quickly and as well as possible!  (There are various versions of well-meaning but ineffective living:  Are You A "Life" Dilettante, Who Is Missing Some Of The Essential Blocks Of Knowledge?)

So here's some reasons based on myths and non-thinking conclusions.

TOO HARD

"This is too hard to do.  So much self sacrifice!" - "I'd rather be unhealthy, seeking relief and escape, believe that life is about eating and drinking."

Am I Capable Of Making My Life Excellent?  Can I Have Confidence In Reaching That Higher Level? 

Do I Have Enough Time?

Is The Payoff Worth The Effort?


JUST NOT ME, NOT MY STYLE

"This is too goody-goody for me.  We can't be like that."


I CAN'T...

"I can't do this.  I get distracted.  I don't have enough discipline.  It'll never work!"  - Wanna bet?!!?  If you took the time to feel better and have good energy, you'd have more psychological and physical strength and be able to do lots more stuff - and if you learned what didn't work and stopped doing that and did what worked to get relief from being tired, stressed, anxious, you would no longer have to battle being stressed, anxious, and tired!

"But it'll be so boring..."

It's hard to learn.  But if you do it the right way - it can actually be enjoyable.  


I WANT IT ALL NOW, NOT LATER!

"I can't wait.  I want it all now.  I want an immediate payoff.  I want relief, now.  I want to feel good, now.  This will take too long..."
