HOW YOU START YOUR DAY
DETERMINES YOUR DAY!
You cannot escape this reality. It is like gravity, virtually always causing a problem if we violate the laws.
HOW I CAN BE "OFF"
If I spend too much time "browsing" my emails early in the morning, I go into a lull and I put off the vital launch of my momentum, which I get from exercising first thing in the morning for 30+ minutes. Without that, I have trouble reaching "escape velocity" from being low energy and subject to inertia. (See Super-Principle: The Law Of Inertia And Momentum.)
If I continue on zig zagging around in randomness with my morning, I do not feel good about myself or my day and I begin to get a little stressed. I feel in a bit of a rush, though my body doesn't seem to be getting in gear nor am I really rushing. Hours can pass before I get productive, though the level I reenter into productivity is at a lower level than otherwise. My tendency to prioritize items of highest importance for first action in the morning tends to decline markedly, to the point where it seems not to happen very often - I seem to never get there during the day.
WHAT WILL WORK?
So, for me, I've got to implement a 30 minute limit for my amusement and kicks I get out of some of the emails about life, growth, inspiration, productivity, etc. And the only way that that will reliably happen is to set a timer. There seems to be a "draw" to me in looking at those, as they seem comforting and easy. But now I've mostly managed to take it to the next level, where I simply, after a few minutes, scan all the emails for importance and then leave them all for my amusement in the evening (when I tend to not read as many of them as I might otherwise!). [A modification: Since if I "forget" to discipline myself in following this process, then the "golden time" for high productivity will get sucked up. What works is a hard and fast rule, period, to only scan the emails for what is vital, put the necessary ones into the task list and then get off email - maximum time 2 minutes, which should be done as one is reviewing one's daily plan.]
Of course, we humans seek to stabilize ourselves through various means, many of which are ineffective and/or delusional.
THE KEYS TO GETTING IN GEAR
The keys to my "getting in gear" are actually somewhat similar, as they both involve movement and breathing.
The first is deep breathing very soon after I get up, while I am lifting my legs to the level where I can touch my knee with my hand 100 times, at whatever pace I feel like it. This is no big challenge and I am always capable of it, no matter how I might feel. This ups my functionality, so that I am more inclined to do the next item.
ANYWAY, THE KEY POINT IS...
The key point here is that you (and I) MUST start off the day with a successful launch as early in the day as possible. That way we will be more productive and feel much better - and have more free time, too!
This is not negotiable!
