Powerful people spend their time in Quadrant II, which actually causes Quadrant I to shrink and go to almost zero!.  They live in vision and perspective, balance, self control and powerful influences, in good health, self-actualization.  They, basically, live The 80/20 Life

The time to do this comes eliminating Quadrants III and IV activities.  Start with The Quickest Life Improvers.

I.  REQUIRED ACTION!
(The fire fighter quadrant, crisis management)

IMPACTFUL AND URGENT

Living in stress, badly managing life

Crises
Up against deadlines on important matters
    Lack of anticipation
    Late preparation
Emergencies
Pressing problems



Action:  Do it right away!  Manage it well.
Followup:  Go to Quadrant II to solve long term.
III. REACTIVE, UNDERUTILIZATION 
(Land of trivialities and a lesser life)

LOW PAYOFF BUT URGENT

Slow, monotonous, ineffective, victim

Maintenance activities that can be done by someone 
   else.(a "necessary to live life" activity is in QII)
Interruptions
Some meetings
Popular activities
Low impact reading

Action:  Minimize, eliminate, delegate
Power in life is achieved by clearing out most of these, possibly through delegation if you can't eliminate, plus by totally deleting Quadrant IV operations.
IV.  WASTEFUL, NON-PURPOSEFUL
(The quadrant for wasting life and possible harming)

LOW/NO IMPACT, LOW/NO URGENCY
Languishing, non-life, fooled life, false beliefs

Getting nowhere

The land of the drift, being a gradually boiling frog, and living Goundhog Day as a Pokeyman

Producing no value

Going for false values, which have no real net payoff and/or are harmful
"Relief", escape activities, numbing out (replace with actions that actually work)
Other people's priorities/expectations (if important
  people, handle with care as there is relationship
  importance involved)
Most TV (causes mild depression after 1/2 hour)
Junk mail, catalogs, pointless "shopping"
   Junk email
Fiddling around, busywork
Pointless conversations with no value
Distractions, shiny objects, "interests" outside of top items of value
The news (other than in vital areas for self), politics

Action:  Stop, dump, delete, clear out!

Attitude:  Zero tolerance, for it is "giving away your very life"

DON'T FOOL YOURSELF ON "IT'S RELAXING, RELIEVING " OR SOME OTHER JUSTIFICATION!

HIGH IMPACT, NON-URGENT
Being on the upward multiplying growth curve

A. Producing what is of the highest value

B. Building cumulative value and capabilities

Increasing and/or maintaining your 
    capacity/health/energy/productivity
Creating and assuring excellence in what matters.
    Stopping at the point of lower payoff
Problem prevention
Excellence assurance
    Set up systems, procedures, habits, practices
Preparation
Planning (to assure do what is of the highest value
What's important, operating from clear values
Making decisions about maximizing life and its parts

Action: Prioritize, schedule, make mandatory
