FOR THE HOMEMAKER
HOW TO BE FAR MORE PRODUCTIVE, FEEL GREAT, AND TO HAVE MORE TIME FOR YOURSELF, YOUR FAMILY AND PEACE
As I write this, I am thinking of the lady who wrote me from Abu Dhabi about lack of motivation and feeling very dependent...sleeping late, wishing she could get to the more rewarding activities. To a certain extent the productivity book I wrote is for her, to answer her "what do I do next?" question. SELF-EMPLOYED? IN CHARGE?
A homemaker is like a self-employed entrepreneur, responsible for managing the operations and also an employee - just not for money. A homemaker is responsible for producting "value" to him/herself and to the other "stakeholders". So, a homemaker must also have "high productivity hours", where the homemaker decides how best to do all the required activities for efficiency and for value.
The problem often is that the homemaker gets caught in the "never being able to be off the job" syndrome and tends to get caught in the time-effort world instead of the results world of producing value. And one value they forget to produce is self-care.
Nevertheless, the homemaker is a person who must be productive and who must therefore learn the productivity methods that apply to what is needed to be done, for the objective of producing the most job value but primarily the most "life productivity".
A homemaker is most often the chief parent and the one responsible for creating a home, feeding the people in, and many often thankless jobs that fade into the background of everyday life amid expectations but seldom with enough acknowledgment.
The job of the homemaker seems to be a job off on its own in a separate category, very different from other "jobs". The homemaker often does not get paid for the work - and besides that will, nowadays, often work, too! A seemingly impossible job - but only if you do it the wrong way. Do it the right way and there will be time for everything important, including self-care and quality time with those you love. And boundaries will be your great friend. (I know that sounds heretical...and you might be saying "you just don't understand...but stay tuned for some "enlightenment".)
The homemaker is essentially "self-employed", but with lots of bosses and demands from various people, especially children and spouses (who are often not good employers at all - so the homemaker has to, as in any job, learn to deal with supervisors, bosses, etc.).
A BROADER SET OF SKILLS, "ABOVE" THE JOB
The homemaker has to have a broader set of skills than almost any "job" - and great expertise in management - both of time and people. Because of this, it is of the greatest importance to use Life Productivity techniques to free up time for learning - which will, in turn, free up more time, as one learns how to get more results with less time - and to have plenty of flexibility to do what is most important and self-caring for him/herself.
You must set aside a non-violatable (except for emergencies) 15 minute time slot at least for reading the following books:
You can read my book The Quickest Route To High "Life Productivity" first, link to from Books.
Then you'll be off on a voyage of becoming an expert at productivity, as this is required for all homemakers, so that they don't just drift through life being pushed about by demands and circumstances.
I suggest you apply this site's (TheLifeManagementAlliance.com) information and guidance just as any other human being would do in any area of life AND that you go to the specialist, so that you can become a master at being a homemaker - not just to get things done, but to greatly improve the quality of your own life, which will result in your being able to contribute so much more to those who you love.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Some things effective homemakers can do
The initial ideas usually are in the form of doing fewer actions to get more results. An efficient homemaker, for instance, would do "bulk cooking" (and freezing at time) so that cooking time will be saved.
The effective homemaker would "delegate" and define jobs for others to do - and this would include family members, to handle the responsibilities - and to settle for nothing else.
